Today I went fishing for flounder on Deer Island Flats in Boston Harbor using a jig rigged with a swim trailer, but did not catch one. It was the first time taking the kayak on the ocean, something I plan to do more of. Spring and summer are the best times here for flounder. The striper fishing from Deer Island is productive. There is free parking, and a trail around the island for walking or bicycling. The backdrop of the city at sunset is pretty.
