I fished this spot. It is on the upper Niagara River, above the falls, in zone 19, between Peace Bridge and the nearby railroad bridge. There are free public parking lots along the river. I noticed quite a few fishermen around the railroad bridge.
I did not have a chance to get to the Whirlpool, which is in zone 20 below the falls, but I heard it is a fantastic fishing spot, and a steep hike from the free public parking lot.

Annie Taylor, the 'Queen of the Mist' and a schoolteacher turned stuntwoman, on her 63rd birthday in 1901, went over the 170 foot Horseshoe Falls in a 4.5 foot wooden barrel becoming the first person to do so. A few days before her trip she sent a cat over the falls in a barrel to ensure it was survivable. The cat, and Annie both survived. No one has attempted the American Falls because the bottom is lined with boulders.
