Bass, Redcoats, Indian Burial Grounds, and Flutie Flakes, Natick, MA, 10/5/2014
Caught this small largemouth bass lurking in the weeds fly fishing with a beadhead stonefly nymph on the Charles River in Natick.
The falls at the South Natick Dam have a few places of interest. The Natick Historical Society Museum there has a red coat taken from a British soldier at the Battle of Lexington and Concord on the first day of the Revolutionary War, April 19, 1775. They also have centuries old artifacts such as maps, household items, and shoemaking tools as Natick was a nationally prominent shoemaking community after the industrial revolution.
The museum has a box of Flutie Flakes on display because Doug Flutie graduated from Natick High.
As if Flutie Flakes weren't enough, there is an indian burial ground behind the museum.
